Located in the towns of Gatineau, Quebec and Ottawa, Ontario is Pecco's, owned and operated by Martin Cousineau. Pecco's is a bicycle and ski shop that has been in business for the past 32 years. For the past 11 they have adopted building custom bikes, something that they feel gives them a competitive edge as they can offer more aggressive pricing. As a business that processes hundreds of transactions a day, the need for a way to organize and process all those sales was paramount. Martin chose PayGo SaaS LH to meet this need.
What made you decide to go with PayGo for your Point of Sale system?
"Our old system came with a lot of promises and absolutely no deliveries," stated Cousineau. While looking for new systems they found PayGo SaaS. "While it came with an up-front fee like every other product out there, what drew us to PayGo was the monthly fee. When a company has you pay a monthly fee, it's like they're making the commitment to continue to keep you happy."
What do you like about the PayGo system and how has it helped your business?
When asked what aspect of PayGo has helped his business the most and how he feels about its ability to grow with his business, Martin stated, "It's flexible, quick, efficient, and everything is in real time. It can grow with bigger businesses and is adaptable to smaller businesses."
What is your favorite feature of PayGo and why?
Martin loves the software's ability to work in real time. Martin owns two Pecco's stores, located roughly 5 miles apart. PayGo allows for the two stores to work symbiotically. The real-time multi-store capability keeps their inventory information up-to-date so if one store is out of stock on a certain type of product, they can immediately check and see if the other store has any stock left. Since the two stores are located so close, commonly the customer has no problem driving to the other store to pick up the product or they will send a runner to go pick it up for them.
What else? You have an online store too?
The live inventory information serves Pecco's equally well with its online store. If the brick and mortar stores are out of stock on something it shows up as out of stock on their web store as PayGo automatically pulls the stock information from the store and updates it to the web. With their old set up if a customer ordered something that was out of stock they would have to call the customer to let them know the bad news. With PayGo, if the product shows that it is in stock, then it is in stock.
In Summary
Compared to other products Martin states, "Our store does everything a store can do and the PayGo team has been willing and eager to work with us."
Is that store cool or what? If you are around Pecco's, you HAVE to go there. If you're not, don't worry, just go to their website and buy something there. If you're opening your own retail business or you have one that needs a fresh approach, how about giving us a call at 866-287-5576?
